So, all in all, a good trip, but could've been better (like, with more bus shuttles) ^_^
After booking the trip, I realized I could've gone for five days, but there was no chance left that I'd ever get a second shot at that lucky low CT->CA airfare I'd gotten, so I did the best with what I had.

Even though I "planned" so hard, I realized I'd never gotten around to the Haunted Mansion Holiday we East folks never get to see (at least it was on the Blu-ray), or see Jack & Sally out front, or ride the Steamboat, and that there's still at least three obscure sections of DCA I haven't set foot in and which probably won't be there anymore by the time I can make it back.

DLR isn't the themed-hotel kick-back that WDW is, so you have to appreciate the park for Park's Sake--Us inside-info and Walt-history geeks know what to look for.
On one late bus, I'd heard two girl's-night-out guests chatting over what one thought would be a perfect idea--"What if they organized an all-night sleepover in front of the Castle, for charity?"
I'd politely explained what *does* happen at the park overnight--which they were apparently hearing for the first time--and I'd ended up pelted with every other sort of insider question as if I was the one wearing the plaid vest. :)
And those of us who compare, know how to "forgive" Walt's park for not being as spiffy, modern or out-in-the-wilderness as its Roy cousin...I've noticed that since DL can't *build* new attractions, they tend to make more LIVE shows to go with them. There's something in that, speaking a loyal Epcot fan.

So, I got a perfectly on-time flight back (and had to sit through "Swing Vote" twice in a row *again*, once for each connection), watched old-school Doctor Who episodes on my iPod until the batteries ran out over Maryland, and contented myself to get back to work.
Now, for the moment, I've got nothing to bribe myself to finish *that*, but writing these reports is good practice for it.

Thanks for your report, Derek! We really enjoyed our DL trip, though it was in no way a substitute for a long, relaxing WDW vacation. The standout things for us were the food and the live entertainment.
