Regarding the WED-way being polluting, you could power it with solar
panels, maybe the roof of the track way could be a complete solar panel.
Also wind power, Electric power does not HAVE to be a pollution factor.
They were running some of the buses on Bio-fuel, so what is the
difference, run the generator on a renewable resource. You could find a
way to promote it as VERY green if you wanted to make it fit in with AK.
Not a greenie myself, but wish Disney would get back to one of Walt's
favorite things, and that was pushing the envelope on technology, AKA
Carousel of Progress.

Electric from solar panels are still more costly than the grid, but with
oil
prices trending like we seen, there may be a crossover on the chart.

Still, the mag system on the WED trams is an inefficient monster. Maybe a
500
meter squared array could run it, but roof panels are only a dream.

I WOULD be surprised if Disney doesn't add some non-fossil system in a
large
way. Perhaps a solar heat collector for steam or a geothermal HVAC (if not
already in use. A few massive wind turbines would look impressive...maybe
Boon
Picckens will participate? :)

Disney doesn't have a problem with the rising cost of electricity. If they
did, do you really think they would attempt to Air Condition the whole park
by keeping all the shop doors open....

Your also forgetting they have that nuclear reactor hidden under the castle.
;)

Right now nothing come close to beating fossil fuel for energy production,
even with their rising cost. Most of the system currently being used, Solar
Panels and Wind Turbines, produce very limited amounts of energy in
comparison to their " total costs". Disney's experienced with solar on the
Universe of Energy Building has probably taught them all they need to know
about it's limitations and expenses.

And with hurricanes and poor soil conditions at WDW I doubt you'll be seeing
any huge wind mills going up.
