Kilimanjaro Safari Truck Over Revving Engine Noise

My favorite all-time Disney attraction is KJS. Can't count the number of
times I've taken the adventure, typically 3-5 times a day when visiting AK.
However, anyone know why the safari trucks' engines almost continuously rev
like they're about to blow a piston? The Disney website video soundtrack
for KJS apparently used an engine sound effect that is much less
