I spent a couple of days at the Nickelodeon Hotel last summer.
Basically, it's a Holiday Inn on acid, but it's great for the kids and
gives Mom and Dad time to relax. There are two pools, both with a
waterpark type thing - the larger waterpark has a bucket of slime
that's filled and emptied once or twice a day. Each pool has a bar
next to it, and there are kids acitivities all day long. There's even
'Nick at Nite' for the kids - parents can sign them up for it (I
believe it's $60 for the night) and then the parents can go out and
have a nice dinner. The kidsuites have a very nice room for the
grownups, and the kids room has bunkbeds and a video game system. The
living room has a pull out sofa, a table, microwave and fridge. PIzza
hut delivers to the room, and there's a food court where various Nick
characters make an appearance (Dora, Patrick and, of course, Spongebob
himself).
Some friends of mine stayed there last year and they really enjoyed it. Their only complaint was the shuttle service to WDW. They said the advertisements made it sound like it ran pretty regularly, but in reality, it was only a few times a day, and it was not really feasible to take a midday break back at the hotel without losing more than half your day in the parks. They had really planned on using the shuttle because they were with a large family group with not enough cars. They ended up renting an extra car and driving to WDW and that made it much easier on them.
