ah... that sounds so perfect. Lisa

One day. Just me. Sometimes things come together just so and you
achieve near Disney perfection.
I woke early at the Beach Club, showered, made coffee in my in-room
coffee maker, and enjoyed it while watching the sunrise from the
balcony. It was shaping up to be a beautiful day.
Then off to a breakfast buffet at the Captain's Grille (formerly the
Yacht Club Galley). No reservation, no waiting, and I got my self a
yummy and nutritious start to the day.
A quick stop in the lobby on the way back to my room procured me an
early dinner reservation at Boma for the same day.
Then, off to the Magic Kingdom! I arrived just as the opening ceremony
got underway. The weather was clear and warm and the park was
virtually empty. I headed to the back of the park and, with minimal
waits, did Peter Pan, Thunder Mountain, Haunted Mansion, Haunted
Mansion again, Peter Pan again, Philharmagic, and Philharmagic again.
Ahhh...time for a Dole Whip, so I parked myself across from the Dole
Whip stand and procure one promptly at 11:00 when they open. Yummy.
Would be yummier with an egg roll, but I had brought along almonds
which are better for me anyway. Then, off to do Pirates and the Jungle
Cruise.
The Magic Kingdom was getting rather busy now, so I headed back to my
room for a break.
Japanese TV was featuring a game show in which the idea seemed to be
that someone came on and described the many benefits of their favorite
drink. Then a panel tried to guess which of four drinks might be that
favorite drink. Then the original person came on, revealed their
favorite drink, and demonstrated how to make it. One of the drinks was
a warm mixture of pork broth, orange juice, and red wine. Apparently,
it was very genki.
A short snooze and off to Boma. I was starved, having had only Dole
Whip and almonds for lunch.
I got to the bus stop just as the Animal Kingdom bus was pulling out.
Darn. But another bus came along in about 10 minutes. When the bus
driver learned that his only passenger was heading for Animal Kingdom
Lodge, he delivered me right to the lodge.
Because of my very efficient trip, I had extra time to view the
savannas and bug the DVC guy for a look at preview pictures of the
upcoming construction.
Then I heard the drumming of Boma's opening and headed downstairs for
my dinner. Boma was great as usual and the the waiter even found me a
Bass Ale even though they no longer officially stock it.
After dinner, a slow mosey to the Studios for extended hours. First
thing, a stop for my wristband. The man affixing the wristband looked
up at the sky and said it looked like rain. By the time I got to the
Great Movie Ride, big droplets were splatting on the sidewalk, so I
ducked inside for a nice after-dinner ride through the movies.
The shower had passed by the time the ride was over, so I wandered
down towards Muppets. After Muppets, it was eerie quiet and dark and
very, very empty. Where did everyone go?
Then, just past Ice Creams of Extinction, I was run over by a
stampede.
Fantasmic was letting out.
I worked my way back toward the tower, and settled myself on the
benches under the loggia behind the coffee stand and watched the
crowds surge out. I sat and listened to that nostalgic tower music and
had time to contemplate the fact that the coffee stand seemed to have
been transplanted from Tomorrowland--it just had that sleek aluminum
look about it.
After the crowds cleared, one ride down the elevator shaft, then a
boat ride back to the Beach Club for a bit of Japanese TV before bed.
A very satisfying day indeed.
