This might seem a little weird, but for my own ability to visualize

It's not weird at all. It's a huge place, it makes perfect sense to
look for a map. There are several available online. If you do a
Google search for "WDW map", you'll find them. Here's one:

The only two parks even remotely in walking distance from each other
are Epcot and Disney/MGM. It will take about 20-30 minutes to walk
from the back entrance of Epcot (ie, the "International Gateway")
through the Boardwalk area, and over to Disney/MGM. There's also boat
transportation between the two.

You can take the Monorail from Epcot to the Magic Kingdom (via the
Ticket and Transportation Center) and vice-versa, and all other park-
park transportation is via busses.

Taking Disney transportation, depending on which resort and which
park, it might take anywhere from 10 minutes to 40 minutes to get from
a park to a resort or vice-versa, not counting waiting for the
transportation.

You can also order your own paper maps of the four parks and the whole
resort area directly from Disney, for free. Go to Disneyworld.com and
click on "Order customized maps" under Plan And Prepare.

Hope that helps,
