Re: What format camcorder do you use at WDW?

In article <Qe2dnY6HAuVYSUjbnZ2dnUVZ_tqtnZ2d@xxxxxxxxxxx>, Jennifer K. says...

I wish I could figure out if that stand alone player will convert my video
the same way...here is my camcorder, also ordered from Sony Style dot com:

http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10551&storeId=10151&langId=-1&productId=11039061

It's the HDR-HC7.

Care to help me, George or Rodney? I'm not techhie enough to figure out if
that new stand-alone recorder will do the same true HD for my home videos, I
don't see the letters AVCHD on my product description above. I do know I'm
not blown away by the blu-ray disc we burned, was hoping it would look even
better. As I said, my Sony laptop burns in MP2 format, as does their
digital living system. Their one true burner has to be put into a tower and
I don't have one that will work with it.

Thanks,
Jennifer

I am not sure that you actually made a HD disc with your set-up. Did it play in
a Blu-ray player? Did it work in a regular DVD player?

Based on the last sentence in the following paragraph, it does not appear to me
that the VRD-MC5 would burn HD discs for you.

"Cherish your memories with the help of reliable DVDs. With the VRD-MC5, you can
easily transfer your outdated media quickly and easily to DVD without the need
for a PC. Just connect to your camcorder, VCR or DVR for recording video DVDs
playable in standard DVD players. Built-in slots accept the five most common
memory cards for recording digital pictures to DVD as a slideshow or for photo
storage. And for the ultimate in clarity and photo-realistic imagery, record
high definition AVCHD video from Sony HDD or Memory Stick® Handycam® camcorders
to DVD, playable in Blu-ray Disc? compatible devices."

Your Handycam does not use AVCHD. I would call Sony to get a clarification!
