Karen's December 2006 TR, Day 2

Karen’s December 2006 trip, Day 2, Wednesday, December 6

I got up at 7:00. The temperature was 52 degrees and the forecast high was 75.

Terry’s husband Lee dropped her off at PC at 8. He was playing 18 holes of golf and Terry and I went to Animal Kingdom.

We picked up FastPasses for Kilimanjaro Safari and while we waited for our return time we walked thru Pangani Forest Exploration Trail. We rode the wildlife train to Rafiki’s Planet Watch and then rode the train back to Harambe for our Safari.

We ate lunch at Tusker House. I had the chicken salad and Terry had the roasted veggie sandwich. Both were great.

We went to see if we could get FastPasses for Expedition Everest but the return time was too late. Lee and Terry had to leave for the airport around 3.

There were about 25 minutes until the next showing of Finding Nemo so we got in line. The line stretched from the theater almost to the gift shop in Dinoland but we all got in.

The refurbished and newly enclosed theater looks great and the show was wonderful. Once again Disney has come up with something unique with the staging of this show. The actor/puppets are very creative.

We took the bus to Wilderness Lodge to see the decorations, and then we took the boat to Magic Kingdom and a bus back to PC.

Lee and Terry left and I went to the pool to read in the sunshine. : )

Dinner was at the Food Court. I had veggie lo mein and green beans and then took a nap.

At 6 I decided to go to MGM to see the Osborne Lights since it was still warm, 67 degrees, and there was a chance of rain for Thursday night.

The lights were great; the synchronized dancing to the music was really cool.

I went to Sunset Blvd to get a banana; Fantasmic had just let out, which explained the light crowd at the Osborne Lights.

I have noticed a lot of smoking in nondesignated areas so I went to Guest Relations to see if the policy has changed. It hasn’t. It seems like there is less enforcement of the policy; I noticed in all the parks a lot more smoking than in the recent past.

I took the bus to Epcot and rode the monorail ride to the TTC and back to Epcot.

After the monorail ride I went into Epcot and watched the fountain for a while and then found a spot for Illuminations.

After the fireworks I sat at the Fountain View Cafe view till 10:20 to update the TR and let the crowd thin out before heading to the bus. I got to the bus stop at 10:30 and still had a 20-minute wait.

I stopped at the Food Court for fruit and milk for breakfast and was asleep about midnight.

Daytime high 78
11:15 pm temperature 62

You know you have been to WDW a little too often when you have a terrible memory but you still can remember that the Weather Channel is #37!
