Re: How young is too young?

We took my daughter at age 2.5 and it was wonderful. However, I sure
wouldn't choose my ONLY trip to WDW to be that young, so save it if you only
want to go a very few times. :o) Anyway, my daughter's favorite things
were the volcano pool at the Poly, swimming after dark and seeing the castle
change colors, and she loved the Electric Water Pageant and the MONORAIL was
her favorite ride of all, LOL. Soooo, if you are feeling laid-back and keep
expectations as just having a wonderful vacation, lots of pool time, etc...I
say go for it! Take lots of video and photos and she'll "remember" it. I
feel that we have to live our lives, not waiting till the kids can remember
it...and every type of vacation is a bonding experience and an investment in
your family. To me, there's no place better than WDW because they cater so
well to families. The Poly has Captain Cooks with lots of kid-friendly food
pretty much at any hour you'd need it. Do keep in mind she'll be too small
for many rides, but yes, MGM can be fun if you've watched Little Mermaid and
Beauty and the Beast...and Playhouse Disney was a huge hit with my daughter!
She loved ALL the parades, too, and wet rides like Kali River Rapids. My
kids are tall, so height restrictions weren't too much in the way. She even
rode Goofy's Barnstormer at that age, but I'd not recommend it (I wanted to
kill my husband at the time, I had taken our son on it, so he took her when
I didn't know about it!).

I've been a huge Disney fan all my life and have visited Disneyland
once and Walt Disney World 6 times. As you can imagine, I'm very
anxious for the day when I can take my newborn (3 weeks old today) to
Walt Disney World.

I know that 2 year olds fly (if they're on your lap) and play free but
I'm wondering if that's too young to take a child? "Too young to
appreciate it" is what I hear from friends and family.

I've actually been thinking even earlier than 2 years... maybe 1 1/2
to 1 3/4... too young?

I'm thinking the trip would probably be just The Magic Kingdom
although I imagine that even kids that young would have some fun
seeing animals in The Animal Kingdom, checking out the stuff at EPCOT
and seeing some of their favorite characters at MGM Studios.

Do you think I'm being TOO ambitious?
