I grew up in a relatively small, safe town which had a terrible murder of a high school student (by other high school students) a few years back. In that same small town, there was a kidnapping of a middle school student while I lived there (I was also in middle school at the time, but didn't know him). Crime is everywhere. I have no problem with the cops being armed.
