Re: Universal Florida version of Fastpass?

One is very similar to FastPass at Disney. You run your ticket through
the machine and get a return time to come back at a later time. When
you return, you go through the "fastpass" line. (I can't recall the
name for sure, it may be express pass.) This is FREE.(with a paid
admission, of course)

This version has been discontinued. Last Fall, I think. (It was still in
effect last July, when we found it most useful.)

Well, that would explain why I couldn't find it described on Universal's web site. Interesting.... I guess they found that guests were willing to pay for this "perk".

This could also be part of the confusion at Disney when guests think that you have to pay extra for the use of FastPass!

These still exist. My experience at Universal over the last couple years
suggests that the "for fee" version of Express Pass would not be worth the
cost outside of the high seasons. During slow seasons, lines for even the
more popular attractions are pretty short except during the peak times, like
between noon and 2 pm.

We went during July 2004, and the FOTL really came in handy for us. We are a family of 5, stayed at the Royal Pacific, and based on the cost they were charging for the "for fee" FOTL at that time, I figured the room cost us about $40/night. :-) Definitely worked for us....
