you think that you were being responsible. What's the big deal? There

EXACTLY!

But we know that's the problem Mickey-there are posters can't accept
that anyone views things differently than they do. If they can't get
every other poster to agree that "their" way is the only "right" way to
look at things they tend to go off the deep end, start name calling, etc.
We've even seen newbies who have come here and posted unhappy
experiences with a WDW trip be berated, never to post again.

Jack referenced the same thing only yesterday when replying to Ed. We
all have opinions and we are all entitled to them. A simple concept I
believe, and one that if accepted by all posters, could lead to spirited
discussions without name-calling. Such discussions might or might not
cause posters to change their opinions , but the RESPECTFUL exchange of
thoughts on a myriad of subjects is what makes NGs fun for me, and I
suspect many others.

Witness the thread bicker started and how he is so unwilling to accept
that others view a straightforward statement to a waiter as nothing more
and nothing less than a statement of fact. He reads all kinds of things
into it and has labeled posters idiots for not viewing the world through
a bicker lens.
