Well, Ed, perhaps if you didn't go out of your way to be insulting to
people, you wouldn't even need to worry about this.

I know there are some who would find that strange advice from me but I
never shoot first. I just respond in kind.

I don't think anyone could ever say that your were directly insulting.
Opininated, yeah. But to me in a fun way. You have your thoughts and
can back up your thinking. And that's not a bad thing. But I've never
once witnessed you being insulting. (Or have I been away too long?<G>)

Nah, I'm the first to admit that I can insult with the best (worst) of
them. I just don't come at someone, guns-a-blazing without
provocation.

The evolution is usually along the lines of:

1. Someone makes a statement that I find in error and point out what
is being mis-stated.

2. That someone takes extreme offense at any and all corrections I
make to their mis-information and makes unflattering remarks, while
getting all upset that someone questioned them and/or their precious
opinion.

3. I respond with something along the lines of "What are you talking
about? I was just trying to clear up something you don't seem to
understand," pointing out what my knowledge in the area is.

4. That person gets even more upset and starts suggesting I'm a less
than desirable person.

5. At that point, I cut loose and give them what they deserve.

I may not be insulting, per se, but I can get mean. And that's just
my charm. ;)

BTW, will you be making your regular September trip this year?
