Why Paris?
Weather is like UK,lousy.
Why didn't Barcelona get it or one of the many other warm sunny places in

Kickbacks?
I just never fancied going there because of the weather,I am sure I am not
the only one :-)

If you really want to see why Barca failed just look at the Port Aventura website for how to get there ... and I quote ...

Transfer from Barcelona Airport:

Bus transfer from Barcelona airport to Tarragona and to Reus.
Approximate journey time is 1 hour to Tarragona and 1 and a half hours to Reus.

Tarragona and Reus are a short taxi ride from PortAventura. Alternatively a bus service is available from Tarragona and Reus into PortAventura.

For information on the bus from Tarragona or Reus to PortAventura ask at the bus station ...

Disney said at the time it was down to transportation and I can see why.

Paris has a choice of airports (cheap for the low cost boys) and CDG which is pretty state of the art. From CDG you can get the Disney Bus direct to your Disney hotel in under an hour of the (completely unpublicised) TGV in 15 minutes. Barcelona just isn't so well connected.

Paris built TGV and RER tracks to withing 400m of the park gates. Barca didn't and Port Aventura doesn't even appear in the station list on the Renfe website.

Paris built motorway infrastructure. Barca didn't

Paris is close to and well connected to most of northern europe. Barca isn't.

Paris has rain - somebody has got to buy Pinchos! Barca has better weather but the northern european city dwellers who make up most of the customers probably find Paris OK.

Paris has one of the best developed tourist infrastructures in Europe with an information booth by the gate to Disney Village. Barca hasn't.
