I had a similar problem. I tried to book AP reservations but the site
would not accept my name. Then I tried to book regular online reservations
and (knowing I do not have an account) I tried to open a new account. But
I was informed that this email address already has an account. So I went
back to the "Forgot your password" button and tried to find out my
password (which I admit I may have made at some prior year) but was
informed that this email address does not have an account. :)

Online disney reservations have been a big bust for many years. When they
first began I was interrested as I tend to be doing all my "shopping" at
3am and so an online booking system seemed to fit me. But at first you
could only book packages, no discounts, and nothing in the campground. So
I gave up for several years. Then I tried again and found that they would
allow me to book room only, but only at rack rate, no discounts and no
preferences. So there was some confusion at check in when they wanted to
put me in the "full hookup" (mostly RVs) with my tent. So I once again
went back to phone only. I'll use the on line system to check availability
and rack rates, but for now, stick to the phone.

My biggest problem with the phone system is that my only phone is a cell
phone and sitting on hold for half an hour or more definately puts a crimp
in my vacation funds. But at least I am able to get what I want (even tho
AP discounts are not available by phone).
