I'm the same as your girls. Just leave me there, and come back for me

Oh, I hope you decided to do an Alcatraz tour - it really is
fascinating, imho. The audio tour is especially great.

I'm surprised you didn't mention the queue on the other end, on the way
to Fisherman's Wharf. It really is crazy, how long you have to wait to
get on. But, as you said, no visit to SF is complete without a cable
car experience.

No kidding. On my first visit there, I had a very handy little fold-out
city map. On the map, the distances looked very walkable. The map
didn't show the hills...we walked forever. Achy feet beyond belief.
Should have hit Ghirardelli Square first for an ice cream soda for
fuel...

I live close to NYC and I was shocked the first time I went to SF, not
so much that there were homeless, but that they were actively
panhandling. You're right. Unsettling is a good word for it.
Sounds like a great day in SF. It's a beautiful city. I'd go back any
day.
