The Brown Derby

Just read an AP news story about the last of the original Brown Derbys is in
danger of being destroyed (condos). I don't understand this! I would have
taught that The Brown Derby would have been a historic Hollywood landmark,
that it would have been protected by the City long ago.

Of course I also would have taught that it would still be a restaurant and a
big tourist destination. But apparently the last of the original Brown
Derbys is currently a night club, not a restaurant.

I guess that Disney's Brown Derby is really the only "true" Brown Derby
restaurant left. IMHO it's the best place to eat a MGM, and in my personal
top five at WDW.

Are any of the items in Disney's Brown Derby from any of the originals?
