Do what you think works best for you. There's no right or wrong answer.
All the pros and cons are immaterial in this kind of situation. I don't
bother planning any vacation in great detail because I don't have the
time and I prefer a maximum amount of flexibility. If you're the type of
person who needs structure in your life, then feel free to plan out your
vacation as much as you want.
