Y'ou've got a point, Dave.

But I think people's protest againt star voices are against
such stars as :
your Kevin Kilne
Brad Pitt
Matt Damon (some of these in Dreamworks and others)
who are leading men with star power but nothing special 'bout their
voices.

The people you mention from Walt's era and the other studios are
perhaps good examples.

EXCEPT: Mel Blanc was a specialisat multivoice man, known most first
initially for his cartoons (Bugs Bunny,etc.)and others,then jack benny
show whcih he';d already been associated with since the Depression
(while Porky was just a pig..Mel of coruse did Donald I
mean..Daffy,etc.)

Verna Felton wqas a radio character actress, not a leading ditz in 90s
flicks.

Richard Eggastictaly Hyden,, great actor, imitated and featured for his
DISTINCTIVE voice.

To boot the actors of the olders days are largely forgotten to modern
audiences,but your point is valiud.

Also the personalities usually FIT!!!!

Sebastian Cabot, who WAS on the sweet TV series FAMILY AFFAIR when he
was on JUNGLE BOOK,still just seemed to fit Bagheerea, the

(again, their current status today with younger veiwers i--and a lot of
older ones as well!!!-as overshadowed by their memorabloe cartoon
characters!!! Who hasn ;t enjoyed Balolo--even if they don;'t know who
Phil harris is?)

Good point though..but Kevin Kline is only a famouis name and as a
post-GREAT GILDERSLEEVE/FGIBBER McGEE (whose star Jim Jordan was in
Disnye's biggest alltime hit RESUCERS,i9n 1977 but only as a side
character;RIP McvGee,1896-1988) post-1970s screen pretty boy,Kevin
Kline is deemed wrong for animation!!

OTOH Ellen DeGeneres & Al Brooks (I put them in said order in order of
recgonizablity vocally to me) in NEMO and Kevin Spacey in BUGS LIFE at
Pixar had rich pereformances among modern day perofmers.

(My defenses also go for the Saturday morning TV series LINUS THE
LIONHEARTED with Shleodn Leonarf,Carl Reiner,and Johnathan Winters).
