Yes. I was appalled by the refusal (not lack of) of the CIA and FBI to
communicate with each other, and in the case of the FBI, with themselves.
It so happens the applicable administration in power for
the vast majority of the time covered by the movie was led by Bill
Clinton.
I don't know that that's pertinent. That's sort of like blaming Roosevelt
for not suppressing the rise of the nazis. That's sort of like John's
claim that Clinton is to blame because he didn't capture bin Laden,
although John wrongfully claims Clinton had the chance. Who was in office
when bin Laden was trained by the CIA?
I'm not blaming Clinton. I'm stating historical fact. Where do you
see blame? IMO, Clinton himself bares little blame. I don't see
anything useful or productive in "if only" exercises based on
hindsight. You can always back up or go forward a step or two and use
another "if only" to blame somebody else. Life is seldom that simple
and this issue is far from simple.
Here's an example. If only Ed had never started the first OT
Political thread on RAD, it would be far more peaceful. Wait. If
only nobody had responded....
Get it?
It should not go unnoticed that after the screaming and hollering and
threats, ABC apparently edited out a lot of misleading scenes and
dialogue. I thought the screen disclaimer at the start and end were great,
but I would like to have heard a verbal narration in addition to the
screen notes.
From the best people who have the unedited version have reported, about a minute was cut from the entire production.
The edited version wasn't as bad as I expected, but I'm still left with
the strong impression that Disney/ABC intentionally violated the public's
trust in the interest of partisan politics.
You can't really believe Disney/ABC intentionally jumped the liberal
ship to start supporting a conservative agenda, Ed. Can you?
