Including Dance performances and the Regis & Kelly Video and the
Weather video from the East Coast on Fox.

I see the site creator has a posting "SYTCD video? i got a scary letter
from
*** clark productions, so -- it's a no-go. i actually know for a fact
that
this site has BROUGHT viewers to the show, but regardless, looks like the
fun is over."

FWIW, clips of the show definitely fall under "fair use" "fair dealings"
as
educational and research. Especially if a short factoid accompanies the
clips, maybe explaining some of the moves. I suspect they can't even stop
someone posting the whole show (including commercials?) but who would
bother
including all that blathering and fawning?

Peter:

You obviously have NO KNOWLEDGE of the U.S. Copyright laws
or the term "fair use" or "fair dealings".

Of course I do. But if I misunderstand I'm happy to learn. As for your pissy
attitude, what do I care? I'm not the one who posted one of your clips on
the site. Take it up with the site creator. You claim you knowso much about
"US Copyright Law", then exercise your knowledge and shut it down. Or sit
there and piss and moan to someone who doens't care

So how do you feel about the legality of posting CLIPS from the show?

Peter, why am I not surprised that you have to develop a snippy
attitude with me when you don't even know where I am coming from with
this.

In answer to your question and JC's, I have no problem with vixen
using my clip (BTW, it is NOT a clip but rather an entire dance) but
she needs to learn that you must ask permission to post anyone's
copyrighted video on the web.

I have sent her a private e-mail which she has not been polite enough
to respond to, advising her of same. I advised her of this in the
e-mail and told her that she needs to ask my permission and I can then
either say:
1. No.
2. Yes for a price.
3. Yes, if you credit me as being the source of the copyrighted work.

If she had asked first, my answer would have been #3.
I don't care if she uses my video but she needs to learn about U.S.
copyright law and honor and abide by it.

Sounds like JC may know more about copyrights than you do.
After being a working pro in the video business for over 22 years, I
dare say I probably know a lot more about it than you do.

I do hope this answers both of your questions.
