All one has to do to find the source of hate peddling is tune into
Hannity, Coulter, O'Reilly, Rush and Malkin. They each have made a
profession out of promoting hatred to their right winger audience,
and
the
right suck it up like a sponge. I challenge you to find a single
left
wing
talk show that seeks to promote hatred toward one's fellow citizens
as
the
Right has. >
ROTFLMAO! :>)
The challenge would be FINDING a left wing talk show! :>)
I think there's only one...Air America. Have you listened to it?
Boooooooring, but they don't preach hate the Conservative or
Republican
in
the same way the people above do the Liberals and Democrats.
Here's an example of what I'm talking about. Tell me that Rush doesn't
scream the following kind of tripe out on a daily basis:
"I got an email here. "(Uh) Rush, (uh) now that two of our own have
been
tortured and murdered by the terrorists in Iraq, will the Left say
that
they deserved it? I'm so sick of our cut-and-run liberals. Keep up
your
great work." ...You know, it-it's-I-uh...I gotta tell ya, I-I-I
perused
the liberal, kook blogs today, and they are happy that these two
soldiers
got tortured. They're saying, "Good riddance. Hope Rumsfeld and
whoever
sleep well tonight."
Others have scoured to kook sites and report, as you might expect,
that
no
left leaning sites carried anything but tremendous sorrow and
compassion
for the two troops and their families. Yup...Rush lied to horribly
slander
the Left. We hear the same kind of rubbish from the others I
mentioned.
Then again, there's O'Reilly lying about Malmedy to incite the Right
to
hate Liberals.
FWIW, I listen to all of those folks at one time or another. Some
things
I
agree with. Some I don't.
I know that to a good extent you're an independent thinker. (I'm going
to
write you in on the next ballot as an Independent. Give me any crap,
and
you're with the Green Party.) :-))
But you gotta' be kiddin' about the "hate" stuff. They don't make meNow that you read part of Rush's transcript, do you understand of what
"hate"
anything. Maybe it's because I'm full of love (or something) but I
don't
see
the hate thing at all.
I'm
speaking? >
The problem with aligning oneself to a particular ideology is that those
from a differing ideology tend to vilify you. And they do so by
exaggerating
those kooks who will inevitably find their way into all ideologies. I
don't
know whether Rush actually read that stuff or not.
I don't see how you could possibly know for sure either.
I can assure you that he did. I've posted it in mp3 at
<http://www.edbjay.com>. Click on the link about Rush. If it asks, tell
it
to Open the file.
By the way, if you haven't seen "Bush - Border Security," watch it. It's
funny.
Very.:>)
But it's no different than the hyperbole that comes from the left.
Please provide a single example. You can't. You said you laughed your
butt
off, because there isn't a Left wing talking head. You were correct.
Consistent with your observation, except for blogs, you won't find a
single example of the Left promoting division hatred or anger toward the
Right. >
Here's a couple, there's no way you actually believe politics are a one
way
street. There's plenty of stupidity to go around......
"Rush Limbaugh is a big fat idiot."
Al Franken- (The title from his book)
"Republicans are planning the deliberate, intentional destruction of the
United States of America."
Bill Moyers
"This vast right-wing conspiracy that has been conspiring against my
husband
since the day he announced for President"
Hillary Clinton
"I mean, I think, Iraqis, I think, feel that if we drove smaller cars,
maybe
we wouldn't have to kill them for their oil."
Bill Mahr - Larry King Live (November 1, 2002)
"I despise him [President George W. Bush]. I despise his administration
and
everything they stand for."
Jessica Lange - at a film festival in Spain (September 25, 2002)
"Their idea of equal rights is the American flag and Confederate swastika
flying side by side."
Julian Bond - NAACP Chairman (On the Republican Party)
"We must uphold the promise of Roosevelt, Truman, Kennedy, Johnson,
Carter,
and Clinton and never allow the President and his Republican friends to
threaten Social Security by putting it on the Wall Street trading block."
John Kerry- Democratic Senator Massachusetts (Speech To Massachusetts
Democrat State Convention," May 31, 2002)
"This is a racist and imperialist war. The warmongers who stole the White
House have hijacked a nation's grief and turned it into a perpetual war on
any non-white country they choose to describe as terrorist."
Woody Harrelson
"They could call Jesus a terrorist too. I mean, he was pretty tough on
money
lenders a time or two."
Ramsey Clark- former Democratic Attorney General (during a media event for
an anti-war group)
"Any child born into the hugely consumptionist way of life so common in
the
industrial world will have an impact that is, on average, many times more
destructive than that of a child born in the developing world."
Al Gore
"Bin Laden didn't come from the abstract. He came from somewhere, and if
you
look where ... you'll see America's hand of villainy."
Harry Belafonte
"On March 19, 2004, President Bush asked, 'Who would prefer that Saddam's
torture chambers still be open?'" said Sen. Edward Kennedy, D-Mass.
"Shamefully, we now learn that Saddam's torture chambers reopened under
new
management: U.S. management."
to incite hate against Republicans and/or conservatives.
It's interesting that a lot of folks think it's inciting hatred to simply
disagree with Bush. >
If you can't see the similarity I certainly won't be able to 'splain it to
you. The right vilifies the left and you call it hatred. The left vilifies
the right and you excuse it.
I don't excuse it at all. I just don't think that your quotes reach the
level of inciting hatred in the same way the Right's talking heads do.
It's one thing to say, for example, that the president acts like a
fascist. It's another thing to say that Liberals are happy when our
soldiers die. One is an opinion about the president, the other is an
obvious attempt to cause people to despise Liberals.
They are both opinions. Any extrapolation by the reader to ascribe a
motive to either is speculative. Why do you think one is intended to
cause... and the other is not? If one could persuade one to change
their mind about someone and decide they WERE a fascist and the
someone "hates" fascists, then the result is to cause to "hate". Why
does the author of one statement have motive to cause hatred and the
other not?
More importantly, why do you Ed, NEVER accuse those who agree with
your point of view of hatemongering? From whence comes their
immunity?
does. Get it?

Hi Ed -- Methinks both sides are equal when it comes to "peddling
hate".
anyone who performs as they do.
