The position of the CPB is fixed. It is defined as being a fixed position
within a small region of the solar plexus. It varies ever so slightly from
individual to individual. It is a specific fixed point on the body and has
been given the label "CPB."
There's no way a kinematically defined point can be that fixed across
body types and movement techniques. If you want to define the CPB as
something fixed, then it's the target where you try to locate some
particular definition of a dynamic center - but not the position where
that center is always to be found, unless you move the "right" way.
I think what Ed is saying is that it's not kinematically defined.
Yes!
The letters CPB mean the Skippy point, which might be where
she'd draw some dot on a students body.
Not where she might, but where she would.
CPB is a complete misnaming for the Skippy point.
IMO, yes. I thought I already discussed this.
Whether or not the SkippyYes, and her concepts have certainly been argued. But, now that you
point is the center of anything, or has anything to do with
anyones balance, or even anything to do with a dancers movement
(as opposed to how some people think about movement) is open for
debate.
understand what I've been saying, you probably also understand that many
of those who argue misunderstand the meaning of her term. This thread has
been a good example. ;-)
