Yes, I followed the story and seen the video.
As Dem. Leader Nancy Pelosi correctly put it, "What you saw on the House
floor this afternoon was a shameless display of the Republican culture of
corruption, as it exists in the House of Representatives. It demonstrated
once again that the Republican majority will go to any length to satisfy
the greed of the energy companies over meeting the needs of the American
people."
To put it plainly, DeLay's Republican congress doesn't care about
America's middle class citizens. Their major legislation appears to be a
quid pro quo with the special interest groups. DeLay's congress'
indifference to the problems facing Americans is appalling. But, what else
should we expect?
Many of DeLay's Republican congress members had their campaigns paid for
with funds from DeLay-created ARMPAC (Americans for a Republican
Majority). Today's Republican Congressmen are essentially indebted to
DeLay to the tune of more than $100 million! And, where does ARMPAC get
the money with which to support these whores? Major corporations,
particularly in the drug and energy fields. In fact, DeLay's ARMPAC got
its startup capital from Enron and personally from Ken Lay (Bush's good
buddy).
So, David, why should we expect anything from today's Congress other than
corruption and sleaze?
