I'm glad Ed started this thread - I meant to post something last week
but I think I'm still recovering!
A few of my memorable moments from the weekend...
Fantastic hotel location, just couldn't beat the view, the weather, the
closeness to the city... perfect.
Friday - a very memorable dinner at Papoo's, an Italian restaurant near
WTC that we just happened to luck into.
Friday night - the harbor cruise boat circling the brightly lit Statue
of Liberty as the PA played God Bless America.
Saturday - Skipping out of the hotel to hit the city, riding the
subways, pizza in Times Square, watching the skaters at Central Park
(and even doing a little WCS & Hustle along with them), Salsa dancing
at the Lincoln Center to live music (along with a couple hundred other
people!). Sure, I missed watching some of the competitions and missed
out on competing myself, but I had the most amazing day....
Saturday night/Sunday morning - dancing 'til dawn in the upstairs
ballroom, watching the spectacular view as the sun started to come up
Cabaret on Sunday - Wow!
Eating late night/early morning breakfasts at the 24-hour Flamingo
(Flamingo? Fandango?) cafe, hanging with really great folks, hearing
great dance music, watching some amazing dancing, feeling like I did
some amazing dancing myself (of course that may have been all in my
head, LOL).
This was my first time in New York, and frankly, if it wasn't for John
& John's event, I never would have gone - The thought of New York had
always intimidated me in the past. But, I had one of the best times
I've EVER had at an event. I'll go again next year, only next time I'll
take an extra day or two so I can see even more of the city and not
miss any of the event.
First class event - thank you John & John!!!
:^)
