I really wished they'd done the entire last summer with him in a coma.
I mean, they did a season with the title character in prison, so why
not?
Then, when he wakes up at the end of the season he falls out the window
and dies, so next season his dead body is the main character.
(bonus points to those who get the comic book reference ^_^)
and William Messner-Loeb and (um. John Ostrander ad/or Del Close)'s
Dead Detective.
Of course, if we open up the floor to post-mortal but still
mobile types like Boston Brand and Jim Corrigan, I can think of even
more.
