"That was fun" is good, assuming it was "fun" and not "wonderfully
romantic and meaningful" sex. Could be pretty bad if one person is
having deep moments while the other is giggling. You should be able to
figure this out. If not, don't say "That was fun" or you'll figure it
out the wrong way.
"Thank you" is what you say when someone has just done you a favor.
That is, you say "thank you" in lieu of reaching into your wallet and
pulling out some cash. Try both, find out which works better. Or skip
both.
I hear "I made breakfast" is a really good one . . .
