OK, I know I've harped on this before, but here, in a legume shell, is
what frosts my bean sprouts about "Bizarro."
There's no subtleness to this cartoon. Instead of a scalpel, it's a
sledgehammer. Cartoons like this cross dangerously into Ted Rall
territory for me ... angry, condescending, and worst of all, not
terribly funny.
We get it, Dan. You're a vegetarian. Omnivores are stupid! They eat
dead animals!
And just to run my point firmly into the ground, let's argue the
alleged joke. I wonder how Dan would feel if he opened up a sack of
fresh potatoes and found a rotten, wormy one inside? Would he eat it?
After all, it is loosely to the rest of the potatoes as a dead bird is
to prepared chicken.
Now, if you'll excuse me, the nurses at the home want me to finish my
strained peas.
