Interesting change! I notice the "Peanuts" reruns are leaving old
references in.
My paper has strips from 1960 on Sundays, and mid-1990's (I think?
It's
got the shaky linework) on weekdays.

Unrelated to this but I thought I'd ask - does the English version of
the
Yomiuri run "Kobo-chan"? In any language?

My local library (I live in Illinois, US) quit getting the regular
Yomiuri, that
I used to read, and the online one doesn't run the comic. I get the
books
from amazon, and there is a thread on 2ch where someone posts the
synopsis daily, but... just got me curious. I've read that strip
since
it started in 1982 and living in the US now it's particularly
nostalgic,
sort of.

(For any unfamiliar people, "Kobo-chan" by Ueda Masashi is a strip
about a five year old
boy and his family, slice of life but always topical so they comment
on
news events and what not. The characters don't age but their
technology
magically updates to fit the times, similar to "Blondie," and some
permanent
changes have happened, such as an uncle moving in and then back out
when he got married. People like to make collages of the strip
online.)

I have a "Calvin and Hobbes" Japanese version at home, FWIW.
