Re: Opus - 10 June 2007 [spoiler]

Everything I've seen since Barbara Dafoe Whitehead's
article in the Atlantic Monthly 14 years ago suggests
that anything other than one man and one woman, married,
for life is....well....something less than optimal.

=v= Going strictly from the primary sources she cites, that's
*vastly* overstated. Also utterly ignorant of the many and
diverse arrangements around the world that anthropology has
taught us, often suggesting that anything other than one village
to raise a child is ... well ... something less than optimal.

=v= Your simplistic conservative obsessions notwithstanding,
there are plenty of "something less than optimal" fathers out
there, and this strip was a pretty funny commentary on that.
The first time in laughed out loud at _Opus_ since ... forever.
