You sure seem awfully proud of that ignorance of yours.
It's not "ignorance," suggesting that this is stuff I ought to know and
don't. The Christian Bible is as irrelevant to me as the Koran or the
Upinishad or the Writings of Baha'u'lah are to you. You mean you're
ignorant of Baha'u'lah?
If I saw a weird comic strip that depended on my knowing a little
something of Islam or Judaism or Buddhism or Zoroastrianism that I
don't already know, I'd be at least somewhat motivated to find out
just what the heck I was missing. Not because I would immediately
want to join the club, but because Knowledge Is Good.
Why should it be different for this strip, just because it's a) B.C.,
or b) Xianity[1]? I mean, I understand the general irritation over the
interpretation and/or misinterpretation of its premise, but you seem
to be hanging on to that "misconstrue"-ence for dear life.
I don't believe it's misconstruing anything. I think it's clear from the
context that that's what was intended.
But if I can sum up your argument: since *you're* not offended, everyone who
is must be wrong.
