If you're studying astronomy, I would agree. If you're a fifth grader, I'd
say not hardly .. Most kids know that summer has more hours of daylight than
winter, and that's about all they need to know about solstices ..
Just out of curiosity, presuming they know "that summer has more hours
of daylight than winter" but not why (that the earth tilts as it
rotates), is it it all they need to know about astronomy?
