I guess my position is that it isn't inherently cruel to
eat another animal. If someone thinks it is, then I guess
the only solution is to kill all predatory animals, which

Mike, she's specifically asking about cruelty to our domestic animals, like
raising them in pens so small they can't turn around for their entire lives,
clipping off the tails of every pig so they can't bite each others tails
off, and clipping off the beak of every broiler chicken as a chick, then
raising them in a tiny wireframe cage. For their entire lives. Not
specifically eating animals, but keeping them in circumstances that we'd
call "horrible torture and mutilation" if they happened to a fellow human.

I suggest you read the review in my blog, or the book itself. (Read the
book, it's worth reading.)
