My question is, is there any "liberal" group opposing all refineries,
as there is opposition to all nuclear plants or all drilling in ANWR?
When "Earth First", the EDF, Greenpeace, and similar groups show up at
every proposed site to fund and organize the "anti" campaign, [or assist in
the same] then how is that materially different from adopting an across the
board position of opposition to all refineries and nuclear plants??
Okay -- asked and answered.
I still would contend that it's not enough of a mainstream "liberal"
view that it belongs on the same platform as drilling in the ANWR or
building nuclear plants, in terms of summing up the position of a
significant number of "liberals." That is, I'm betting that there are
far more people who oppose drilling in ANWR or building nukes than who
oppose refineries -- that the trifecta being put forth in these
cartoons represents a group too small to represent the whole.
But I'll admit it's nit-picking and I'm sure not the only person who
ever objected to a political cartoon on that basis.
