Pfeh, I'm not going to try to defend Anthony (though I do think people
here are vilifying him just as much as they claim Lynn is Therese). I
would like to point out that any woman who can turn her back on her own
child is pretty cold and callous. And please don't tell me she was
being "gracious and loving". Telling a person "You get the house and
the baby, so I guess that makes you the winner," is the epitome of
bitterness. Did she have cause to be bitter? Maybe. Personally I
think the whole marriage was a mistake. Deanna broke off her
engagement when she met Michael again. Why didn't Anthony do the same
thing, since Elizabeth had just dumped whatever the cheater's name was?

She said from the beginning, "If we have a baby, you're going to have
to be the caregiver. It's not my thing." That may strike you as
callous, but maybe it's just knowing her own emotional makeup. I can
think of a lot of people whose kids would be better off it they had
been that self-aware from the get-go.

So they break up. Now, maybe she said, "I don't even want the little
sprog. I'm out of here!" or she might have said, "You're clearly the
one who had done all the bonding stuff and who is better at this
parenting thing than I am. So, even though I have a vagina and you have
a penis and most judges making a decision in a disputed case would look
into our pants instead of into our hearts, I think you should have
custody. And I don't want to fight with you over the house -- I know
I'm the one who's leaving, so ... whatever."
