My sister told me recently that one of our Aunts has gotten deeply
into geneology and had traced my mother's family back "to the
Mayflower". She was nonplussed, too - when, instead of telling her I
thought it was bollocks, I said, "Ugh! Really? Jesus, whatever you do,
don't tell anyone."
