I just read a horror story in _Car & Driver_ about a guy who had his
folding car key confiscated by TSA. It's the standard issue
spring-loaded laser cut key/remote that VW/Audi have been using for
years. Apparently they were offended by the "switchblade" like spring
action in spite of the fact that there are no sharp points or edges on
the key at all. It's a flat rectangular piece of metal with an
irregular line laser cut in its surface. Cost to replace at the dealer:
$150 minimum. He was lucky he had a spare key hidden on the car.
