I didn't take it that way at all -- I saw it as a caution that when
local "faith based" groups are government funded, they'll be less apt
to maintain their traditional role as advocates for their members, or
at least less apt to criticize the government who has become a
financial mainstay of their organizations.

And I have to say I'm shocked, shocked I say, at the accusation of politicians handing out taxpayer funds to influence voters!
