My LCS has a 10 book minimum, which I barely managed to meet. My
dealer has been very tolerant of me however because a lot of those
titles were miniseries which have since ended, and many of the
remaining ones come out randomly a few times a year.
I do buy the occasional trade paperback though.
Seems to me (unless significant factors remain unmentioned, such
as so many buyers crowding through the shop all hours of the day
that they must be beaten off with sticks) that your comics pusher
could do with a wake-up call.
Was that "10 book minimum" per month? Or per quarter?
If your order is small, he could just give you a smaller holding
box. Or is cash flow a serious matter for him? Maybe you could
pay (by credit card) when he puts items into your holding box?
Mine is far enough away that I've only ever visited him once. He
accumulates items until there are sufficient to warrant free
postage, then sends a batch. So I wait three or four months at
times; but I survive (even if much of what people gossip about is
a mystery for a while). OTOH, I do put some useful money his way
(AFAIK, that is).
There are many ways to skin a cat-- er, sale.
