Marvel's the Avengers (possible spoilers)

Kmart had a special where if you buy four bags of Hershey products ($2.69 each), you get $8 coupon toward admission to this movie. I paid three more dollars to get upgraded to 3-D.

I must say that I really like Hawkeye's "trick" quiver that lets him select the arrow head with a push of the button. It really brought his trick-arrow gimmick to 21st century. This make sense since he could carry far more arrow heads than the arrows.

However, did he take the bow and quiver with him when he was going with Loki? Why would he if he's not in his right mind?

The movie was much too long and they could have done without all the infightings among the members. However, they do that in the comic books all the time and nobody ever gets tired of it. The movie clocks in at 142 minutes and faster pacing would have done attention-deficit children a lot of good. The "true" threat didn't appear until the final hour anyway and by then they didn't even have time to explain who the heck they were.

Why is Cap the only one wearing a mask? Everybody he knows is dead so he's the last person to be afraid of being recognized. On the other hand, Hawkeye and Black Widow are secret agents and could use some disguise.

They really didn't need to have Loki in the movie at all. The have already deviated so much from the 616 origin with Nick Fury's involvement so why not eliminate Loki altogether and cut good twenty minutes from the run time? The repair of heli-carrier also feels like a giant filler. Why they didn't just land when one engine was malfunctioning, I'd never know.

Why did Banner had his pants off when he woke up and why didn’t the pants shrink back? Relaxed fit, anyone?

I didn't like the giant mechanical fishes swimming in the air. Surely they could have come up with designs that were more "alien" in nature. The whole invasion thing was silly because they barely had enough foot soldiers to take over one city and their goal was never explained.

And all the actions just happen to take place at Stark's newly-built tower? His de-armor gizmos are exposed to the element so he could get wet if it's raining. I found it extremely unlikely that he'd walk exactly the same way every time so left boot is always taken off before the right one. And it's up to Mark 7 armor already and back to circular uni-beam. And all the armors look exactly the same in every movie except the very first one.

And isn't the repulsor in Tony's chest that's powering the armor? Getting the new one shouldn't get him back to 100% energy level. (Same argument with War Machine.)

They didn't need Hawkeye getting brainwashed and sabotaging the heli-carrier at all because Loki was in control of Banner and Hulk could have been the one causing damages to the ship.

Finally, I would have much preferred it if Cap wasn't the founding member so Ant-Man and Wasp could have been used as the "The Avengers" movie-only characters without their own franchise. This way they could start off the second movie by finding the Cap-scicle (as Stark has said). Hank Pym was critical to many early Avengers storylines such as the creation of Ultron and introducing many young boys to wonderful world of wife beating. (Hey, my daddy does that too! Just like in the comics! And I want to grow up just like them!)
