There was a thread a while ago where you recommended X-Factor.  Because of
your recommendation I've been reading it and I love it.

In that thread you mentioned some atrocious artwork and I think I've gotten
to those issues.  Were you talking about the issues by Larry Stroman
(approximately issues #33 to #36)?

In my opinion those issues don't look that good at all.  The issues by
Scott Eaton and Pablo Raimondi were nice, but all of a sudden it seems like
it went downhill.

Of course, I don't know what the hell I'm talking about when it comes to
who's good and who isn't but those issues were pretty ugly to look at.

Yup I was indeed, Stroman is ***. I can only assume he's cheap and/or
fast and they need to catch up.

Thank God they got rid of him before the recent soap opera style
attempts of getting the numbers up by PAD. The current cliffhanger
revelations are pretty bloody good and I assume that knowing they were
going to happen PAD asked for that eejit to stop ruining the book with
his childlike scribblings.

Fallen.

Actually he is doing a new book called Bishop, starring you know who.
To be honest, his stuff aint that bad, at least the stuff I see on his
site.

I just looked at that Life & Times of Lucas Bishop book and, while it's not
as bloodcurdling as the X-Factor issues, it's still pretty ugly.

People's faces are so friggin ugly, they don't even look like the people
they're supposed to be.

X-Factor is so good, it was a shame I was rushing to get through the issues
he had drawn.

I dunno, I kinda like his stuff.  Maybe it is just a matter of
differing tastes?  I mean, his stuff is nowhere near as ugly as a
Liefeld drawing, which is what I was expecting after reading ppls
opinions.  At best I was expecting an Ian Churchill drawing.

Seriously? The man can't draw a human who doesn't end up looking like
one of Molemans creatures.

His Val Cooper looks  like she downs syndrome or something ...

... and his Monet is a travesty, her mutant power was joked to be
perfection because she's all around powerful and incredibly beautiful...

.. when you've followed X-Factor for many years and in the middle of a
storyline you can't work out who the hell someone is supposed to be then
the artist is doing somethign horribly wrong. I honestly had no idea who
Rictor was most of the time, he had no recognisable features.

Fallen, thank you for showing me those examples. No sarcasm here, but
you are right, the guy is a poor artist. Those Monet images make her
look like a neanderthal, and not a woman neantherthl either, more like
a man neanderthal. That is some bad art right there.

The male figures when drawn by him look reasonable, but the women look
masculine at best. He needs to get a Victoria's Secret catalogue and
study and draw those faces and figures.
