Was this comic a monthly or a bimonthly? I forget. It's funny--I
haven't bought a comic book since last July, and yet in light of the
chronic delays that have become just part of the way Marvel does
business in this decade, I'd guess that I probably haven't missed
much.

THE TWELVE started out as a monthly, descended into whenever-the-hell after
a few issues, and now it's down to anybody's-guess frequency. Still got a
long ways to go before it hits ULTIMATE HULK VS. WOLVERINE status, though
(more than three full calendar years passing between ship dates).

As a side note, I only really returned to Usenet a few days ago to see
what you all were saying about the Watchmen movie, but I've been
posting in these groups on and off for probably ten years now, and I
know a lot of you guys have been around even longer. It's sad to see
rec.arts.comics phasing out, because I love how I can return here at
any point and find the same people posting as posted any other time
I've been around. I can't think of a single other public forum that
has inspired that sort of loyalty. Looks like it's only the real die-
hards at this point, but it's still sort of great to see these
familiar names (or nicknames).

There's so much traffic on the major (and even semi-major) web boards and
news sites that a significant conversation there is all but impossible,
being drowned in a sea of random noise. That's why Usenet will never die,
not as long as there are people looking for somewhere to engage in a
meaningful and direct give-and-take without all the digressions.

Well, that, plus all the free pr0n.
