They 'were' responsible. There has been no evidence to suggest foul play whatsoever. I don't think that there was a bomb, despite Hulk calling it that, I think the shuttle simply exploded due to the damage caused to it however considering they had locked up the 'Hulk' in it then you'd think that the amazing "futurists" might have thought ahead and not made it a shuttle capable of blowing up and destroying a whole planet.

I think it WAS a bomb put in there by the Illuminati...NOT meant to destroy the planet like it did, but keep in mind, Fallen, Hulk is Banner, one of the smartest men. What's to stop him from just fixing the ship and returning home?

The bomb was just supposed to destroy the ship so he couldn't just come home, remember, the planet he was supposed to go to wouldn't have any technology.
