Having read Issue #1, it doesn't give any explanation, but it is
obviously a different universe...


How so? Seems to be consciously trying to follow the regular MU to me,
right down to having Mac Gargan as Venom. Sure, what happens with Spidey is
a bit of a departure, but I expect the reset button to be hit by the end of
the series.
