Perhaps, but it doesn't require *Professor Xavier* to cause the memory loss.
It wouldn't necessitate a retcon, either, as Scott already wakes up with no
memory past his initial landing on Krakoa -- a result of the *island*
mindwiping him in current continuity. Upon Cyclops' return, the Professor
scans Scott's mind, finds out everything that Scott forgot, and (presumably)
chooses not to enlighten Cyclops in regards to certain events.
