I'm also referring to Xavier. They both did it. What's more, in
Marvel's universe there were plenty of talking heads on TV who were
prepared to suggest that the mutants were the vanguard of Homo
Superior, that humanity would inevitably give way before a species as
new to it as Homo Sapiens would be to Homo Habilis. Now as it turns
out, mutants were a dead end. For all their powers they aren't going
to replace anything. In a few generations they'll all be gone.

and I would have no problem with good guys

Plenty. But almost all of them spoke and acted as individuals and so
are hated as individuals. (The exceptions of course are the alien
invader types representing Atlanteans, Skrulls, Kree, et cetera, and
of course those lot are disliked as groups as well). Doctor Doom
doesn't declare his intent to conquer on behalf of Margali Szardos,
Tony Stark, or even a Latverian. Magneto DOES declare his intent to
conquer on behalf of Scott Summers and Raven Darkholme.

That only makes it harder to believe that someone would labour under
the misimpression that whites are oppressed. But they do.
