This discussion is getting old, and this is the only point I'm going to
make.

It seems that you have no particular love for the truth, when a half
truth or quarter truth or sixteenth of a truth will do.

I said that psychology was a soft science, you replied that Freud
considered it a science? What the hell does that prove? I never even
said it wasn't a science, I said it was a soft science.

You then offer the statement "Freud was a scientist and made
observations based on the study of relevant cases?" What does that
have to do with whether or not psychology is a soft science, adhering
to the actual scientific method, which is not "observe some stuff and
make up an explanation and if any patient disagrees they must be in
denial and there you go!"

If you knew anything about the man, you'd know that his experience as a
"trained scientist" led to him prescribe cocaine as a treatment for
opium addiction, which led to a great amount of humiliation, and you'd
know that virtually all of his theories cannot live up to the scrutiny
of the scientific method, and certainly were not tested by Freud via
control groups and experimentation. Soft science.

"Mr. Madison, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic
things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent
response were you even close to anything that could be considered a
rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having
listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your
soul."
