I would believe this ONLY when they announce in the next movie that
Batman is not going to be Bruce Wayne any more.

Why? Movies generally don't reflect the characters' comics status to begin with. In comics, Lois has no kids, Bats works with a veritable army, Bruce Banner isn't the Hulk, Tony Stark is a loser on a global scale, <byrne> Sue Richards doesn't look like a whore </byrne>, and so forth.

Heck, remember when the Robin character was introduced to the previous series of Bat-flicks? He was Dick Grayson. He stayed Dick Grayson. Even though Dick Grayson hadn't been Robin in the comics in nearly a decade. And he =stayed= being not-Robin there.

No, the movies don't usually reflect the comics...but the comics do
usually reflect the movies...at least the popular ones...

And oh! Could I supply you examples, except that your comics collection has to be deep. For instance, in 1977 when the first Star Wars movie came out (aka #4), the entire look of the Legion of Super Heroes abruptly changed. The spaceships with fins suddenly took on a flying-skyscraper look and began sliding by enormously overhead.

Or Batman, in the late '60s', when the various Bat titles seemed to be permanently possessed by Adam West and Burt Ward. Or this very day, if you look at the Joker -- it will be many a long year until the Clown Prince of Crime quits looking like Heath Ledger.

No, comics are are a far more plastic medium than movies -- cheaper, appearing more frequently, and easily revamped. All you do is send the artist some jpgs from the film, with a little note that the Joker should quit shampooing for the duration.
