And it was whoever the guy in the Batsuit was. FC 6 never showed that
it was Bruce under the hood.

Why even worry? I keep on commenting that the panels in Final Crisis
are out of order! A reader can interpret Morrison's act to be meaningful
or Morrison is on drugs.

I can make a case that the Crisis could have been fought over multiple
dimensions! And at different relative times.

That actually fits somewhat, considering the big lumbering figure,
presumably Darkseid, falling through the Multiverse a while back.

For example, Wonder Woman never fought the combined heroes except in one
panel where the heroes had torn costumes - something different than in
prior or successive panels. Sonny Sumo claims that he comes from a
different dimension. The Orion who dies in the first issue could have
been from another dimension and thus would not conflict with DOTNG.

Good points on the first two, but Morrison has already nuked the third
one in FC #6 by a verbal hand-wave that indicates the New Gods are
pan-dimensional (but not mice) and Orion actually died at least 3
different times simultaneously.

In summary, it could be a Bruce Wayne(Batman) who is killed but it does
not mean that he was 'our' Bruce Wayne.

It is a trite explanation but it would fit Morrison's work. Disguising
a well-worn story with impenetrable narrative is like a delicate French
sauce smothering a Big Mac but it would seem to be what we have here.

I like the description.
