I've seen the image on Newsarama. It's a straight on image of Darkseid
With his fists together in front of him. He is wearing gloves but, as
they are not padded, they are not boxing gloves. They do, however, have
Omega on them. And, again, no Orion to be seen.

....Actually, now that I've read FC #2, I'm convinced that's Orion, but
in a twist that I actually will give Grant some credit for throwing at
us, it's Orion in Dan Turpin's body. Two clues:

1) Dan's been beating the living *** out of anyone who has crossed
his path on the search for the missing kids. Violently. And with some
significant delight in the physical effort of the act, but not with
the enjoyment of the cruelty a la Desaad. Just like Orion would beat
the crap out of someone in order to get them to squeal on Darkseid.

2) The re-imaging of Glorious Godfrey thinks that Dan Turpin is the
reincarnation of Darkseid because he gives off the same "aura", and
even refers to a "new body" being built for Kalibak. Now, who other
than Darkseid could give off the same "vibes"?

....I'm going to go out on a short limb here and say "mark my words"
that Orion will be reborn inside of Dan "Brooklyn" Turpin. Which means
if Grant's really going to be sadistic to us Fourth World fans,
Lightray will show up inside of Scrapper :-)

and from what I've heard the Fifth World Orion is still a
fighter, but he's also punch-drunk and about to go into Ali-Mode.

"from what i've heard"? So you haven't actually seen the picture you
are critiquing?

....I finally got a better look at the cover art - a bigger look,
actually - than those who'd seen it have, and while the "punch-drunk"
comments I heard weren't accurate, I can see how someone might think
that from the thumbnail.
